13 Jan Staying Power
Staying Power at the V&A museum is a great new photography exhibition documenting the contribution of Black Britons to society.
I saw the photographer Charlie Phillips interviewed ( one of the exhibitors) who began taking photographs in Notting Hill with Kodak Brownie given to him. There are examples of brilliant composition in his black and white photography, vibrant images depicting social life in neighbourhood and a combination of posed portraits and candid images. He went on to become a documentary photographer for Harpers Bazaar and Life magazines.
